Liam's friend Graham and his mom Colettte went with us for a fun hike in the sun and to Goose Lake. It's finally sunny out but now it's only about 50 degrees outside so it's time to bundle up.

A trip to the Barber

...the Barber Cabin on the Kenai Peninsula that is. Back in April we reserved the cabin to make sure that we'd be getting outside enough with Liam. The cabin is only three miles in and is handicap accessible so Liam got to ride in his Chariot. It was decent weather for us and beautiful fall colors.

Liam had a couple nights of gut aches and fussy behavior after I put wheat back in my diet, so I am going off from it again. We are going to another cabin down on the Kenai Penninsula tomorrow. The Barber Cabin sits on a lake 2-3 miles from the highway. We will return Tuesday with more photos. Liz

Denali Road Lottery

Usually you visit the park by bus, but each September there is a lottery for private cars. Nice fall colors and no rain though lots of clouds around. Back in 1999, my folks and I took the bus in and so Liam got to see the same sights as Meme and Grandpa. Liz worked in the park back in 1991, so there are lots of changes to the outside areas around the park, but it's nice to see the park itself in the same condition. We drove to the Teklanika river - about two-thirds of the road - before turning around

Hitting the Wall Tent

So we had fun time up at Denali National Park and the weather cooperated pretty well. We drove up Saturday and stayed in a wall tent, which made for a pretty long night. We went into the park the next day and then stayed in a cabin before driving home on Monday. The second night went much better. Here are some pics of our accomodations and then I'll post some from the park.

Up to 15 pounds

Liam had a couple nice trips to the doctor last week and his friend Graham came over. Liam showed off his crib.

Go north

We're heading up to Denali Park tomorrow. It's 40 degrees and raining up there. Hope to see some good fall colors and some wildlife. Liam is nearly 15 pounds and doing well. Two check-ups this week and the allergist says Liz can start phasing back in some wheat and eggs. Here are some more Liam pics.

When we were young...

Brian Gross and I biked up to Alaska "for a year" ten years ago this month. Here's a picture of us going for a bike ride last Sunday and some from when were going into the wild back then.

Thai one on

Friends Colette with Graham and Charlie with Henry came over last night for some Thai Kitchen. Tonio and Tai came over too, but I didn't take any more photos. We saw Tonio when we were in India last year. And Liam keeps getting bigger. We go in for a four month check-up this Weds.
