England on the way Home

A week in England on the way back - the tower of London, Globe Theatre, biking on the flooded Thames - we were there for some of the worst flooding in a century. Windy day at Stonehenge and a beautiful view from the Salisbury Cathedral.

We stopped in England for a week on the way back to AK.

Austria on the way to India

We stopped in Austria on our way to India, saw our friends Nate and Alex in Innsbruck and went to a curling tournament. It snowed two feet - in May - once the Alaskans showed up. We did get to enjoy the beautiful mountains and the comfy Halleranger Alm.

Temples in India

A Jain temple in Haridwar. Hemis Monsatery festival in Ladakh. A bathing ghat in Varanasi. The Taj Mahal and a camel in Rajastan.

Along the Ganges River

Aarti ceremony in Rishikesh. Cows in front of the ashram. Elephant ride on my birthday. Bathing in the Ganges in Haridwar.

Trekking in India's Markha Valley

The bus ride through Kashmir shows the ribbon of road. Ladakhi women going to a business seminar. New and old buildings in the Markha valley. Our guides - Morup and Dorje and our cook - Norbu.

Kashmir Photos - Summer 2007

Here are some pictures from our trip to India. On the second day after landing in Dehli, we flew to Srinigar in Kashmir.

This was one of my favorite pictures from India, though it's not as easy as I hoped to see that this is a woman. We have a crappy camera. Anyway, it was over 100 degrees that day in Dehli near the train station and this was around 1pm.

I think I finally figured out how to put pictures in so I will see if this works and then start putting our India pictures in and see if it works. I need to figure out how to put more than one in at a time or perhaps a slideshow.

First Post

This is my first post and will be a test.
I hope to put up some of our pictures from India, Austria and England now that the days are getting shorter up here. Soon it will be time to ski.
